Android Developers releases details about the versions of Android and which one is the most popular. The data was updated on March 15 and shows the percentage of Android versions with data gathered from devices that connect to the Android Market.
Seven versions of Android are tracked in the chart 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.3.3 and Android 3.0 Honeycomb. What we see is that Android 2.2 now dominates the landscape and is installed on 61.3% of all devices.
we find that the Android 2.3/2.3.3 has not been pushed out to many devices at all for some reason. Only the Nexus S and Nexus One primarily run it. Another interesting point is that Android 3.0 is now beginning to take a share albeit, only a 0.2% share at the moment.Android 2.2 has risen from 57.6% to the 61.3% mentioned above.android share 650×246 Android 2.2 Takes the Lead in Android OS Share
