Nook Color Announced by Barnes & Noble . Barnes & Noble has announced the Nook Color. The Nook Color is a 7 inch eBook Reader that has an IPS display inside with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

Barnes & Noble have used what they call Vivid View for the screen which allows it to display 16 million colours. On top of the screen is a full lamination screen film that attempts to reduce glare from natural light as well as glare from behind the screen.

The Nook Color looks just like the renderings we saw earlier this week. Other technical specification show that it has a body measuring 0.48 inches thick and weighs 15.6 ounces.

It have a Wireless 802.11b/g/n. witch  is built in although there is no 3G on this model. With it having a large colour screen, the battery does take a hit and is rated at about 8 hours per charge. What the colour screen does though is allows you view the new Nook Kids range of books as well as full colour magazines and newspapers.

it will cost $249 when it is launched on 19 November.
