BSNL is going to Lay Optical Fibre In Bangladesh
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is going to lay Optical Fiber Connectivity (OFC) between Agartala and Akhaura of Bangladesh covering to 12 KM distance.Government of india owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is all set to lay optical fiber cable to provide higher telecommunication between Agartala, the state capital of Tripura and Akhaura, the nearest Bangladeshi town.
BSNL General Manager said, “BSNL is going to lay optical fiber from Agartala to Dhaka. Around 12 km optical fiber is needed to connect Agartala and Akhuwra (nearest town in Bangladesh to capital Agartala) telephone exchange.”BSNL also plans to extend their network from Sabroom to Chittagong (in southeast Bangladesh) sea port and then to Ashugang (in eastern Bangladesh) port. Survey works are apparently in progress and as soon as survey is over, cost implication will be calculated and the work is expected to start by the present financial year according to Debkumar.and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar launched the service. The Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot first introduced the service in Mizoram in July.
