Sony PSP 2 Codenamed NGP Is Now Official
The new device currently codenamed NGP is Next Generation Portable.
On the side of feature it will support Revolutionary User Interface, Social Connectivity, Location-based Entertainment, Converging Real and Virtual.
The PSP 2 is compatible to downloadable PSP games and is also compatible to the PlayStation Suite.
It has a 5 inch OLED touchscreen that can display 960 x 544 pixels. Powering the device is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. It has dual analog sticks (not nubs).
For connectivity side, it has 3G, WiFi and GPS built in. On the back is a rear mounted touchpad.
and more features included as a accelerometer, gyroscope as well as a compass. Two cameras on the front and the other on the back.
Sony has not confirmed how games will be loaded up other than saying it is new media. They have dropped UMD format, so it isn’t clear if media will be used or if content will be downloadable.
