The Nexus S is more advanced than the Nexus One in that it has NFC built in. This particular Android 2.3.3 update is mainly for updates to NFC in terms of being able to write to tags instead of just reading like in 2.3.

Problems fixed include the random reboot issue that began to cause issues for the newer Nexus S.

The OTA updates have already begun according to an official tweet made by the Googlenexus account. But, you might not get the update off the bat and instead, You could wait for a few weeks due to Google pushing out the update gradually over the next few weeks.
