NVIDIA has created a new Quad-Core processor It is the Kal-El. It is capable of creating some very realistic real-time rendering with dynamic lighting and other effects. The Kal-El is specifically designed for tablet devices and is expected to be first launched in the new Amazon Hollywood Tablet.
We have included the video demonstration bellow. It is called Glowball and it has been designed to show what the difference is between a dual-core and quad-core processor.
The demo shows a real-time CPU usage chart with four bars with each bar representing a core. The tablet is tilted and the ball rolls around.
When four cores are enabled, the rendering and frame rate is extremely smooth. NVIDIA also point out that every aspect of this scene is calculated in real time which includes the falling barrels as well as the cloths.
When we switch to two cores, the demo is unplayable. Also pointed out in the video is that the silicone used is pre-production and that when the processor actually launches, it will more than likely run about 25 to 30 percent faster. you can see it in videso, it is for the fast processing and downloading…
